Turkish opposition deputy dies
Onder had been suffering from cancer and was had been receiving treatment in hospital.
Ilyas Sezai Onder, a parliamentary deputy for Turkey’s opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) died on Sunday afternoon after losing his fight against cancer.
Onder died in Ankara’s Ibni Sina hospital where he had been receiving extended treatment for his illness.
A memorial service will be held later Monday in the Turkish parliament before Onder’s body is returned to his hometown of Samsun on the Black Sea for burial.
